In memory of George Carlin who graced the world with his… um… he… um… well, actually, I’m not sure what he accomplished but he was certainly adored in Berkley, San Francisco and the lower west side of Manhattan. Anyway, Carlin was an advocate of the counter-culture. Just as a reminder, that culture he was countering brought the world Edison, the polio vaccine, clean water, safe neighborhoods, the space program, and it defeated Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany in three-and-a-half-years, Yup, that’s a culture that should be countered. Since the hippie movement has been firmly ensconced for 40 years we can look back on their mighty achievements, like… um… let’s see… um… education is gooder, computers run faster, although they were actually invented by that old culture. The space shuttle… oops, designed back in the 70s by that older culture. Um.. gimme a second here… oh, yeah, we got Lindsay Lohan. Thank Heavens for the Counter-Culture. Oh no! Did I say “heavens”?
