God Loves Misfits

Jason Goldtrap says: I am a misfit. I am a bit odd. I am a nerd. I am not expendable.

I’m forty-years-old and unemployed. People should have connected with me earlier in life and mentored me but they chose not to do so. Please listen and learn. Please give people like me a chance to shine. I have something good to say.

I grew up in a good home. I’ve never been drunk or used drugs. I was a virgin when I married. I grew up in a good environment. I went to a private school called Goodpasture in Madison, Tennessee. I graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve read all kinds of books on positive thinking.

I should be at the pinnacle of success. I should have children. I should be in demand as a speaker. I wrote a book which I hoped would at least be controversial but no one bothered to read it. I rewrote it and put it on my website for free. Please read it.

At Winterfest and Spiritual Growth Workshop they always have football heroes and college presidents. At some point, in God’s plan, there must be a place for someone like me.

God loves even the misfits. God loves the punks. God loves the not so successful. God loves you. Attend a church of Christ this Sunday and learn of God’s plan for your life.

If you are a church goer then please, for HEAVEN’s sake, next time you’re at church, seek out someone like me. The shy, awkward kid, the teen with a nose ring, the Army dropout, put your arm around them and find a way to encourage them so they can be a new resource for God’s kingdom.

Peace, love, truth, beauty, love.
